The Faster Labor Contracts Act
Posted On: Sep 19, 2025
The Faster Labor Contracts Act is bipartisan legislation introduced by Congressman Pete Stauber and Congressman Donald Norcross to expedite the process of negotiating first Collective Bargaining Agreements for newly organized unions. This bill mandates that employers must begin negotiations within 10 days of a union's request, and if no agreement is reached within 90 days, the matter must be referred to mediation. If mediation fails within 30 days, the dispute will be sent to binding arbitration to secure an initial contract. This legislation aims to protect workers' rights and ensure they have a real voice at the negotiating table, ultimately benefiting the entire nation.
