As I write this today (May 17th), I can feel things most important in our lives. While this is the anniversary of my son Billy’s untimely death, it also makes me reflect on what should be important to every one of us in our life. Protect what we have and fight for our families’ future.

So many of our working families across this country are under siege. Things we worked for and we took for granted are being eliminated in a power hungry grab by right wing extremist. Make no mistake, this attack on American workers was a well planned, pre-emptive strike designed to bring Unions to their knees and make us bargain away certain rights just to survive.

These republican zealots in Wisconsin and Ohio and other areas have developed a strategy to attack the most vulnerable Unions and break us one at a time. It won’t work!

This is not just about wages and benefits any longer, it is about the future of our children and what legacy we are going to leave them if we don’t beat this movement down. All Unions and other working people must put aside any petty differences and unite to join with each other in this fight. They came at us in different ways, they are Tea Party, right wing zealots who are backed by billionaires and corporate America and they have one purpose, destroy middle-class America!

Don’t let them take away your voice! Stand up and fight back. The Teamsters Union will lead from the front. Don’t be left out!
